City Manager Jon Mendenhall was appointed on August 17, 2020 by Eden City Council to serve as City Manager.

He conducts the overall administration of the City as prescribed by North Carolina General Statute 160A-148. He is the chief administrator of the City and is responsible to Council for administering all municipal affairs placed in his charge by them. He coordinates all activities and carries out all policies and actions of the Eden City Council. As an ICMA Credentialed Manager, Mendenhall is committed to professional and quality principles in local government.

Administration also includes:

  • City Attorney Erin Gilley provides legal review and advice for the City Council, City Departments and Boards and Commissions. The City Attorney also performs legal services for the City of Eden, Council and Departments.
  • City Clerk Deanna Hunt serves as the direct link between the citizens and their government;  maintains the permanent public records for the City; records all actions taken by the City Council; prepares and distributes City Council agendas and minutes of the meetings and provides assistance to the Mayor and members of Council. The City Clerk is also the Payroll Clerk for employees.
